SERVICE UPDATES:

Community Engagement:
A refreshed approach.

ce-image-group-chat.jpg

AQA seeks to identify challenges of change and resource individuals and communities to both meet the challenge and tap potential with intention and purpose. In response to a changing and evolving sector space, AQA has and continues to work towards carving out spaces for persons with disabilities to create lasting and sustainable impact. This response has included significant culture evolution, review and reflection in all service delivery, engagement in research and policy change, development of the Community Engagement frameworks and a shift towards fee for service opportunities in the Peer Led / Peer Support space.

This framework is about streamlining the service experience, being informed and led by the community and its lived experience and staying responsive and relevant by continuously growing and adapting  to our community’s needs. By doing this we can aim to reach more people who’d benefit from engaging with us, across a wider range of needs.

This approach informs all our service areas and teams and has seen our information, resource, peer support, lived experience, skill and capacity teams such as our Peer Led and Lived Experience Teams, Allied Health, Support Coordination and Service Engagement teams come together under this framework.

Collectively the team represents 273 years of lived experience and this continues to grow as we identify people with a desire, interest or skills to contribute their knowledge and experience back to the community, by offering opportunities to develop coaching, training and facilitation skills.  This process helps us build capacity within our community, ensure our services remain relevant and peer-informed, and scales our impact
